The International Conference of Genomics (ICG) 2009 opens on October 21, Beijing.  

The conference is organized by Beijing Institute of Genomics and the Genetics Society of China. The theme focuses on "Challenges and Opportunities in the Age of Genomics", including four major topics: (1) genome stability and epigenetics; (2) bioinformatics and computational biology; (3) genomics and cellular evolution; (4) outstanding unanswered questions in the Age of Genomics. The conference brought together invited speakers from Chinese and international institutions, aiming to bridge the gap amid academic researchers and investors/manufacturers in the field of genomics and bioinformatics all over the world, and to explore the potential for genomics approaches to medical and therapeutic relevance.
