A cornerstone laying ceremony for the new laboratory building of Beijing Institute of Genomics (BIG) was held at the construction site on October 15, 2010.

Honored guests and representatives attended the ceremony and also enjoyed an open-air buffet. Dr. YANG Weiping, executive vice director of BIG, briefly introduced the construction planning of the building, and acknowledged the valuable support for this project from all relevant parties.

The new laboratory building is located in the Olympic Village Science Park of Chinese Academy of Sciences. The project is scheduled to be completed in April 2012, which will serve as an important basement for the development of BIG in the future.
