Cuban Scientist Visits BIG
Cuban scientist Prof. Vicente Vérez-Bencomo, director of the Center for Synthetic Antigens, University of Havana, visited Beijing Institute of Genomics (BIG) on November 22, 2010. LI Junxiong, vice director of BIG, attented the meeing and discussed for cooperation issues of both sides. Prof. Vérez-Bencomo is a world-renowned scientist who led the team that discovered and developed the Cuban Haemophilus influenzae type b (Hib) vaccine using a synthetic antigen – the first of its kind in the world.
