Beijing Institute of Genomics (BIG), Chinese Academy of Sciences won the Genome Valley Excellence Award in BioAsia 2011 Conference on February 22, 2011.

The award committee has decided to confer upon the Genome Valley Excellence Award to BIG for its “excellent work in human genome sequencing and other related aspects, in addition the tremendous contribution made by the institute towards the development of biotechnology sector of the world”.

The Genome Valley Excellence Award is organized by the Federation of Asian Biotech Associations (FABA) for recognizing outstanding scientists/ entrepreneurs/ institutions that have made significant contributions to the Life Sciences Research & Industry of the world. The Award was introduced during the first BioAsia 2004 Conference and being continued in every edition of BioAsia, which has gained high recognition and has been considered as one of the most prestigious awards in life sciences sector.

BioAsia 2011 Conference is held during Feb. 21-24, 2011 in Hyderabad, India. Over the past seven years the conference has emerged as a prestigious international event in life sciences and biotechnology sectors.
