Dr. XIAO Wei, President of College of Life Science in Capital Normal University, and Professor of Microbiology and Immunology at University of Saskatchewan, Canada, delivered a seminar titled “Made for Survival: a Tale of Translesion DNA Synthesis and Beyond” on Dec 21st, 10:30 am at room 201, Beijing Institute of Genomics(BIG), hosted by Prof.GUO Caixia.

Dr. Xiao’s primary research interests lie on the discovery of non-conventional ubiquitination processes and in defining the molecular mechanisms of the related pathways, especially on the characterization of non-conventional ubiquitination target proteins which are involved in cellular metabolisms. He has published over 108 papers in peer-reviewed journals including Cell and Nature. In 2009, he was recruited to Capital Normal University in Beijing, China by the National 1000 plan program.
