Computational Biology Research Center was set up in BIG

A ceremony was held in Beijing Institute of Genomics(BIG) on Feb 17, 2012 to inaugurate the Computational Biology Research Center, about 50 researchers in BIG attended the meeting.

Prof. WU Chung-I, director of BIG, first expanded on the plan and arrangement of the center, reviewed the history of how to push the center from a tentative idea to real practice, and shared information of bring talent in computational biology field. Then Prof. YU Jun , Associate director of BIG, gave a mobilization talk to the researchers, emphasized the necessity of strengthen the collaboration between labs and the center and improve the entire research level of computational biology in BIG. Later, Associate director LI Junxiong described the background and procedures of the Elite One Thousand Talents Program and other important talents recruiting programs which BIG is putting efforts in. Finally, the attendees discussed the developing direction, the objective and working key point of the center.
