Prof. Patrick Cunningham, Chief Scientific Adviser to the Government of Ireland, visited Beijing Institute of Genomics (BIG) on January 5, 2011.
Prof. WU Chung-I, director of BIG, hosted the meeting and gave a presentation on cancer evolutionary genomics. LI Junxiong, vice director of BIG, and related scientists attended the meeting and discussed with Prof. Cunningham for cooperation issues of both sides.
As a world-famous scientist in the field of animal genetics, Dr. Cunningham is now a professor at Trinity College, Dublin, and took up his post as Chief Scientific Adviser to the Government in January 2007. His work has been published in some 100 papers in refereed journals, and has twice featured on the cover of Nature.
