Dr. HAN Dali is a professor at Beijing Institute of Genomics, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). Dr HAN received his B.S degree from University of Science and Technology of China in 2007 and Ph.D. degree in Bioinformatics from Institute of Genetics and Developmental Biology, CAS in 2012. Then he performed his postdoctoral research in the laboratories of Dr. He Chuan at the University of Chicago. He was recruited as a principal investigator in BIG, CAS from 2017.  

Introduction 

Dr. HAN’s research interest is to combine medical biology and bioinformatics to investigate the roles and biological significance of novel nucleic acid modifications in anti-tumor immunity, stem cells & organ regeneration and epigenetic therapy. He has published more than 20 papers in the peer-reviewed journals including Nature, Science, Nature Methods, Cell Research, Molecular Cell, etc. He was elected as the National Science Fund for Excellent Young Scholars (2019) and Member of Millions of Talent Projects National candidates (2020). 

Current research interests  

1. Based on the new high-throughput sequencing technology, the functions of newly identified epigenetic regulators were studied, and the regulation mechanism of novel nucleic acid modifications on gene expression was interpreted (Dai, et al. Nature Methods 2017; Han, et al. Molecular Cell 2016; Xia, et al. Nature Methods 2015). 

2. Interpreting the precise regulatory mechanism of RNA modification in the maintenance, transformation and reprogramming of embryonic stem cells. which is applied to stem cell medical science and tissue and organ regeneration (Liu, et al. Science 2020). 

3. To study the dynamic changes of epigenetic modification of tumor cells and immune cells in tumor microenvironment, and to elucidate the mechanism of tumor immune escape (Han, et al. Nature 2019). 

4. Develop machine learning and artificial intelligence algorithms, integrate epigenome, epigenome data and clinical medical information to accurately predict, diagnose and treat cancer, and realize intelligent medical treatment (Tian, et al. Cell Research 2018; Xu, et al. J. Chem. Inf. Model. 2020).
