JIANG Lan

Group leader 

Dr. JIANG Lan, is a principal investigator at the Beijing Institute of Genomics (BIG), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). He received his bachelor's degree in Wuhan University. He then earned his Ph.D. degree from BIG. He finished his postdoctoral training at Harvard Medical School in 2018. After that, he joined BIG as a PI. He has got funding from the National Key Research and Development Program of China, the Natural Science Foundation of China, the Strategic Priority Research Program of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the International Partnership Program of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, etc.

Introduction  

Dr. JIANG Lan’s contribution to science includes 1) the development of single-cell genomics analysis methods, 2) the discovery of H3K27me3 as an imprinting mark in mammalian, 3) understanding the role of DNA methylation dynamics in gene regulation in early embryos and embryonic stem cells. He has published 12 Corresponding author or first-author papers in peer-reviewed journals including Nature, Cell, Genome Biology, etc. Dr. JIANG’s group will mainly focus on:

1. To develop novel single-cell resolution multi-omics techniques and computational approaches.

2. To study the roles of gene regulation in development and disease.

3. The application of AI in the interpretation of single-cell omics data.
