Dr.XUE Yongbiao Visited Quaid-i-Azam University and University of Karachi in Pakistan
Dr. XUE Yongbiao, director of Beijing Institute of Genomics (BIG), Chinese Academy of Sciences visited Quaid-i-Azam University and University of Karachi in Pakistan from the 12th to 15th July. Drs. ZENG Changqing, Dr. HU Songnian, Dr. BAO Yiming and Dr. ZHANG zhang accompanied the visit.
On July the 13th, Dr. XUE and the delegation visited Pakistan Quaid-i-Azam University, both sides conducted an extensive discussion around life and health data sharing, establishing joint International Health Data Alliance and other academic exchanges.
On July the 14th, Dr. XUE visited The International Centre for Chemical and Biological Sciences (ICCBS), University of Karachi. ICCBS is one of premier research establishments in the developing world. Its reputation for scientific research and training extends far beyond the country's borders. Both sides hoped to strengthen the scientific and technological exchanges between two institutes.
During the two-day visit, BIG signed MOUS (Memorandum of Understanding) with both the National Center for Bioinformatics of Quaid-i-Azam University and the University of Karachi. Both parties hoped to establish deeply collaboration partnership on academic exchanges, and Pakistan would give full support to the "International Health Data Sharing Program" and the bio-data resources sharing.
