Delegation from Serbia Institute for Cardiovascular Diseases “Dedinje” visited CNCB

A group of fourteen delegates, headed by Prof. Milovan Bojić, the director of Institute for Cardiovascular Diseases “Dedinje”, visited China National Center for Bioinformation (CNCB) on April 12th. Prof. YANG Yungui, the director of CNCB,hosted the welcome ceremony and further discussion of cooperation opportunity, together with PI representatives of CNCB.
 
Prof. YANG first welcomed the “Dedinje” delegates and briefly introduced CNCB. Then Prof. Milovan Bojić introduced the Institute for Cardiovascular Diseases “Dedinje” and their visit to China. The “Dedinje” Institute is the top cardiovascular disease research center and medical institution in Serbia and has been approved to join the BIO4 national science park of Serbia. He himself first visited China 25 years ago as Serbian Minister of Health. Then, he has been devoted to promoting international collaboration in personnel training and disease research with China's first-class cardiovascular hospitals and research institutions.
 
Subsequently, Prof. ZHANG Zhang introduced the history, international collaboration status and biological database resources of CNCB; Prof. JIA Peilin and Prof. WANG Minxian introduced their achievements in the fields of population cohort research and personalized Genetic risk prediction of coronary artery disease, respectively. Asso. Prof. Slobodan Tanasković, the innovation and technology transfer manager of the “Dedinje” Institute, introduced their research and innovation achievements.
 
The attendees had a warm discussion on issues such as sharing of life and health big data and utilization in analysis research, and reached a cooperative intention. YANG Yungui and Milovan Bojić, on behalf of their respective institutions, signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on in-depth cooperation, involving personnel exchanges, construction of life and health big data sharing networks and related research in cardiovascular diseases.
