Delegation from Slovenia Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation visited China National Center for Bioinformation
A delegation, headed by Ms. Tina Vuga, the head of EU and International Cooperation Office, Slovenia Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation (MHEST), with accompany of officials from Ministry of Science and Technology of the People’s Republic of China, visited China National Center for Bioinformation (CNCB) on June 12th. Prof. ZHAO Wenming, the deputy director of CNCB, hosted the welcome ceremony and further discussion of cooperation opportunity, together with PI representatives of CNCB.
Prof. ZHAO welcomed MHEST delegation, then Ms. Tina Vuga introduced MHEST and their visit to China. Slovenia attaches great importance to the scientific and technological development and innovation in the field of life and health. Currently, MHEST is vigorously expanding cooperation with China in science and technology fields such as genomic medicine and bioinformatics.
Subsequently, Prof. BAO Yiming, HAN Dali and WANG Minxian introduced achievements in the fields of biological database resources, epigenomics studies of tumor microenvironment and personalized Genetic risk prediction of coronary artery disease, respectively. Attendees had practical experience sharing and in-depth discussions on the issues such as sharing, utilization, and analysis of biological big data, and cancer genomics.
The MHEST delegation toured CNCB infrastructure. Both sides jointly expressed the aspiration to promote communication and cooperation in the fields of biological big data and cancer genomics.
