The National Bioinformatics Center and the Genomics and Bioinformatics Center of the Uzbekistan Academy of Sciences signed a memorandum of understanding
On the afternoon of October 17th, a delegation of four people, led by Professor Zabardast Buriev, Director of the Center for Genomics and Bioinformatics (CGB) at the Uzbekistan Academy of Sciences, visited the National Center for Bioinformatics (CNCB). YANG Yungui, Director of the CNCB, representatives of CNCB research units, and some management personnel attended the memorandum signing ceremony and discussion.
YANG Yungui warmly welcomed the CGB delegation and introduced the positioning and mission of the CNCB after transformation, hoping to have extensive cooperation and exchanges with CGB in the future. Professor Zabardast Buriev introduced the basic situation and research fields of CGB, which is the only center in Uzbekistan engaged in genome and bioinformatics research and has made certain achievements in plant genome research, especially in cotton genome research.
Both parties had lively discussions on project cooperation, graduates exchanging and training, software development, and other issues in the field of life sciences, and reached a cooperation intention. YANG Yungui and Zabardast Buriev signed a memorandum of understanding on behalf of both institutions to deepen cooperation in personnel training, data sharing, and collaborative research through co-PI.
