President of the Pakistan Academy of Sciences Visits China National Center for Bioinformation

Kauser Abdulla Malik, President of the Pakistan Academy of Sciences (PAS), visited China National Center for Bioinformation (CNCB) in the morning of May 30th, Prof. YANG Yungui, Director of CNCB, Prof. ZHAO Wenming, Deputy director of CNCB, representatives of research fellows, and personnel from the Department of Science and Technology,participated in the meeting.

Director YANG Yungui warmly welcomed President Malik on behalf of the center. Prof. SONG Shuhui introduced the close cooperation and progress achieved between CNCB and Pakistani scientific research institutions. She also introduced the development history of CNCB, highlighting the construction of the center's data resource system and international cooperation network, as well as the construction progress of the CNCB Zhangjiakou Campus. Director YANG Yungui stated that CNCB looks forward to establishing connections with PAS and is willing to assist Pakistan in building a biological big - data platform and conducting related research. President Malik affirmed the cooperation achievements between CNCB and Pakistani scientific research institutions and is hoping to promote more cooperation between CNCB and PAS in talent exchange, education and training in the future. 

The Pakistan Academy of Sciences (PAS) was officially established in February 1953. It is a non - government, non - political top academic institution composed of outstanding Pakistani scientists. Its mission is to "promote scientific and technological innovation and social and economic development" and it is mainly responsible for providing advice on scientific and technological development and scientific education to the Pakistani government.
