Brazilian CNI Visits CNCB

On September 4, a 14-member delegation from the Brazilian National Confederation of Industry (CNI), led by Roberto de Medeiros Junior, visited the National Center for Bioinformation (CNCB). 

YANG Yungui, the Director of CNCB warmly welcomed the delegation from CNI, emphasizing that Brazilian research institutions are strategic partners of CNCB. Professor SONG Shuhui introduced the center's development history, its transformation from an institute to a center, the functions of various departments, and showcased the center's data resource system and international cooperation network. She also presented the construction progress of the new Wanquan campus and highlighted the collaboration history and significant achievements between CNCB and Brazilian partners. 

Dr Rodrigo dos Santos Cassel from the Brazilian delegation introduced the composition, distribution, functions, and international partners of the Brazilian CNI. Subsequently, both sides engaged in in-depth discussions and exchanges on potential future collaboration areas, such as talent cultivation, biodiversity, and the application of AI in life and health sciences. Both parties expressed a strong desire for cooperation and agreed to further exchanges to foster solid collaboration.

The Brazilian National Confederation of Industry (CNI) is the highest official organization representing Brazil's industrial and commercial sectors. It represents 27 national-level business associations and 1,245 employer federations across various industries, involving over 700,000 related enterprises. Among these, the National Industrial Training Service (SENAI), funded and managed by the Brazilian National Confederation of Industry, is the largest vocational education institution for industry in Brazil and is affiliated with CNI. Its mission is to cultivate technical talent for the industrial sector, driving technological innovation and industrial upgrading.
