One position immediately open for Scientific Editor at the journal office of Genomics, Proteomics & Bioinformatics (GPB)

      GPB, an international peer-reviewed journal published by Oxford University Press, is currently seeking a Scientific Editor (position immediately available) to join its editorial office located in Beijing. Currently indexed by databases including PubMed/MEDLINE, SCIE, and Scopus (Impact Factor of 11.5 in 2025 and CiteScore of 17.8 in 2025), GPB aims to publish high-quality findings from scientists around the globe, focused on leading-edge technologies anf their applicatons in omic studies.

The Scientific Editor is expected to play key roles in all aspects of manuscript processing, including but not limited to the responsibilities listed below:

Responsibilities:

1. To interact with leading scientists in the fields, solicit submissions, and coordinate organization of special issues;

2. To actively engage in editorial processes, including screening manuscripts and overseeing peer review;

3. To perform pre-publication editing and proofreading for accepted manuscripts;

4. To promote the journal by attending or organizing conferences and other events. 

Requirements:

1. Ph.D. degree in bioinformatics, genomics (or other omics), computational biology, molecular genetics, or other closely related fields of life sciences. At least one original research article as the first author or corresponding author in the well-known international (English) journals is required. Excellent candidate with Master’s degree could be considered. Postdoc training or working/study experience abroad is desirable; editing experience is a plus but not required.

2. Broad scientific interests, ability to critically think, and dedication in scientific editing;

3.Strong sense of responsibility, collaboration, and independence, highly self-motivated, creative, and open-minded;

4.Proficient in oral and written English as well as computer skills; good communication skills 

      The journal office is affiliated with China National Center for Bioinformation and a competitive salary package will be offered according to the policy of the Institution.
