The Application Development Department serves as a key bridge connecting cutting-edge bioinformatic technologies with national major strategic needs. Adhering to the principles of "Data-Driven Innovation and Technology-Enabled Application," the department is committed to transforming vast bioinformation resources and advanced bioinformatic technologies into practical solutions to solve real-world challenges. Its core mission is to promote the in-depth exploration and efficient use of bioinformation resources to accelerate the transformation and industrial application of bioinformatic technology achievements.

Missions/Research Directions:
The Application Development Department collaborates with Computational Biology Department, Data Resource Department, and Tools Development Department to conduct cross-departmental research, it aims to build a data- and AI-driven bioinformatics application system that systematically advances translational research in areas such as deep mining and utilization of biological big data, mechanisms dissection of complex biological trait, and disease risk prediction and stratification, for the supports of national strategic needs in population health and precision medicine.
